Hello my name is Cindy Barr. I came to work at Elon during the summer of 2007 and I am so proud to be a part of this dynamic campus community. I graduated from East Carolina University with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Theater. I then moved onto the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to earn my MA in Clinical Community Psychology. So while I am one of the few admissions staff members who is not an Elon alum, I grew up in the surrounding area and have known Elon most of my life. For me, the opportunity to work at Elon meant being part of a supportive academic community. It also gave me a chance to work close to the family.
I reside on my family farm in Rockingham County, NC with my husband and two daughters. When I’m not at the office, I enjoy running and the performing arts- especially music theatre.
Here at Elon I work as the interim director of International Admissions. The best part of my job is meeting interested students and helping them determine if Elon will be a good fit. Please consider me a resource whenever you have questions about Elon or about how to navigate the admissions or scholarship process.
